Already After

Genre: Rock

Rank: 5

In this world, every joy contains a seed of sorrow and every sorrow holds the promise of a future joy. The song Already After examines the dynamics of these dual scales by painting a picture of these unending cycles of conflict and resolution in our world. The first two verses examine the unsatisfactory conditions of that conflict. The song’s protagonist states, “you take the best of me” and “I always feel so uninvited”. However, by the end of the song, conflict turns to hope and optimism as the protagonist looks instinctively upwards to the open sky and gleans from that clear space the understanding that “so much there is to share if we can, rise above and, be.”
