Benny Brown is a true story about WWI veteran Bertram Brown who left his small cattlefield town of 40 homes and travelled overseas to fight against the Germans. He died at the age of 21 at Beaumont Hamel. While he never did return to his small town, a memorial is present at a small cemetary as a reminder of the young man and the sacrifice. After being inspired by this memorial Terry Penney researched Bertram Brown to ensure acuracy.
