This is a story of self-awareness. It is an ‘honest look’ at the made-up stories we tell ourselves in love; when the relationship seeds from an already inauthentic place in our attempt to control the way the other person perceives us. It is when our moves become contrived and habitual like a kiss without a conscience. We may be in the same room but we are worlds apart. After a while we start to make excuses as to why we should stay in the relationship as if continuing the lie is a good enough reason as not to hurt the other person. Eventually they catch us gazing out the window and just won’t stop asking, “What was it that led you astray?” but you’re already too far away.
