In July of 2009, I lost my brother to a long battle with drug abuse. He had been a crack addict for years. He was ten years older than me and our family suffered from being ripped apart by his addiction and the problems it brought on the family. My relationship had deteriorated with him. When I got the call that he was not going to make it, I drove 9.5 hours through the night to the hospital, only to get there 15 minutes too late. I missed saying goodbye by 15 minutes. This song is just about unresolved issues and dealing with that.
