This is a song about incredible anticipation of something great happening. We were waiting so “High” means we were so excited about the possibilities (it is not a reference to a drug high). But you can see the beginnings of doom setting in. The future is not necessarily a pretty picture. For us this was about our band trying to “make it” and our emotional state as we went on that journey.
